Timing
Early action on this issue is desired by CCI in order to complete their fund raising activities and begin
construction of the new child care facility.
OPTIONS
1. Do nothing and let CCI remain in the current facility.
Concerns:
• This would extend their temporary use of 169 N. Washington
• Could eventually draw Federal criticism or action
• Continues city liability exposure from having CCI in a substandard City Owned Building
2. Discontinue support of CCI and require them to relocate by a set date.
Concerns:
• May result in adversely impacting CCI's ability to continue to operate
3. Require CCI to purchase the Thomason Lane properties.
Concerns:
• Would impact their ability to focus funds raised on building construction
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommend adoption of the attached resolution.
SUGGESTED MOTION
Move to adopt the attached resolution extending Council Resolution 442 to December 31, 2003.
ATTACHMENTS
1. A Resolution extending the completion date for Child Care Incorporated to satisfy conditions under
Resolution 4442.
2.
