„,„,,,, o , . International of Eugene, Eugene Active 20 -30 Club, Junior League of Eugene,
and many local foundations have financially supported our capital campaign.
rJi i
We have continued to progress on this important project in good faith.
CHILD Many obstacles came up, but we all worked together to resolve them. We look
CARE forward to the time that we can operate from our new facility, able to serve more
I N c families. The need for affordable and accessible care has become an even more
Since 1968 critical issue with the closure of child care centers in the Whiteaker area. Child
Care Inc. is not only a unique center in our community, serving low- income
High Quality Child Care: families with high quality care, but unfortunately we are now the only certified
Affordable and Accessible center in the neighborhood that is licensed by the State of Oregon Child Care
for All Families Division.
Board:
Kathy Wilger We provide children and families with the specialized services that they
President
need. We work closely with the EC CARES program through the University of
Debra Delegato Oregon providing opportunities for young children with s
Vice President g P g Ply Y g special needs to have an P
Paul Theisen enriching experience in a mainstreamed preschool. Our partnership with Lane
Treasurer County Headstart has further enhanced our ability to reach low - income families
Cheri Peterson and has increased our ability to provide extended family services to those in
Seery greatest need. In our new center, we will be able to increase the number of
Mike Garling families that we are able to serve in these programs.
Greg Gerot
Bill Hoffman Our revised timeline is to begin construction this year, the timing of
Susan Williams which will depend on the building schedule of our General Contractor as we are
Capital committee: now obviously beyond our original construction time frame. Given the recent
Debra Delegato, chair ups and downs of the construction community, that we have various groups
McCabe Investments helping with our project that will slow down the scheduling of the construction
Bill McCabe, chair phase, and that we have to factor in where we are at in the school year for a
McCabe Investments P Y
Micheal Roberts smooth transition for families, we believe that planning to have the program
Gale Roberts Co.. in operating at full capacity in the new facility within two years after construction
Lyra Daniels Anderson begins is a more realistic projection for our project.
Community Volunteer
Dane Dugan Thank you for your time and consideration. Please don't hesitate to call
Community Volunteer
Steve Gunn me if you have any questions about our project.
Construction Focus
Paul Theisen Sincerely,
2G Construction
Robin Langkamp
Scharpfs Twin Oak; Mfrs.
