Page 2 <br /> Services to be provided on the new site include: <br /> • Affordable preschool/child care for up to 50 hours per week for <br /> infants/toddlers and preschoolers. <br /> • Sliding scale tuition based on family size and income, with some full <br /> scholarships for qualifying families <br /> • Flexible scheduling tailored to the needs of individual families (full- time/part- <br /> time variable scheduling) <br /> • Parent consultation and conferences <br /> • Parent involvement welcomed and encouraged, including participation in <br /> governance of the school by service on our Board of Directors <br /> • Free bi- monthly educational workshops open to parents, service providers, and <br /> members of the community, including complimentary meal and child care. <br /> • Information and referral to additional community resources <br /> • Respite care for children at risk through such as programs as Child Care Inc.'s <br /> Transition Program currently funded by the Youth Development Commission. <br /> • Breakfast, lunch and two daily snacks exceeding USDA nutritional guidelines. <br /> • A quality developmental preschool program <br /> • Summer fun program for 6-10 year olds <br /> • Summer Youth Employment Program for high school students <br /> • Services to special needs children in an ADA accessible facility <br /> • Cooperative "grandparent/preschool" program that would bring our children <br /> together with community seniors on a regular basis <br /> Child Care Inc. is the only center open to all families in the Eugene/Springfield area which <br /> provides tuition based on a true sliding scale, with payment according to family size and <br /> income. At the time of this writing, 53 % of enrolled children come from low- income <br /> families residing within the Eugene city limits -- thus qualifying for either our reduced ($265 <br /> per month full -time) or scholarship ($185 per month full -time) tuition rates. <br /> Brief description of the proposed project: <br /> The proposed project is to build a new facility at a new site. We are in the process of <br /> negotiating terms under which we would acquire lots 700 and 800 of Map No. 17 04 25 13 <br /> from the City of Eugene, with a target date of June 30, 1994 to acquire the site. The new <br /> building, providing enhanced services, would nearly double our capacity; would be an <br /> energy - efficient facility in full compliance with all safety and building codes; and would <br /> comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The facility would exceed CSD <br /> regulations and provide a model facility serving the low- income families of Eugene and <br /> surrounding communities. <br /> Relocation and construction of a new center at the Thomason Lane site would allow Child <br /> Care Inc. to nearly double our current capacity.
