; ' //^ A COMMUNITY NON - PROFIT PRESCHOOL AND CHILD CARE CENTER
169 North Washington Street, Eugene OR 97401 (503) 344 -1165
Celebrating a Quarter Century of Quality Care
• ' Diane Schultz, P P rogram Director • Michelle Daniels Lang, Director of Development
i \ TO: Mayor Ruth Bascom
Lj\ •Councilor Shawn Boles
CHILD FROM: Child Care Inc Board of Directors
, BARE
I N C DATE: November 18, 1994
RE: Update regarding Child Care Inc site status
since January 10, 1994 letter from Janet Kerans (attached)
The Board of Directors continues to support the idea of
relocating Child Care Inc. to the Thomason Lane site (Map #17 04
25 13, Lots 700 and 800). This site is consistent with our
board's goals of continuing to serve primarily low - income
families from a location in the Whiteaker neighborhood.
Additionally, a new site would allow us to expand our services to
include infant /toddler care, which is very needed in our
community.
Our Community Development Block Grant application,- submitted
in February 1994 regarding the relocation of CCI to Thomason
Lane, was unsuccessful due to the absence of formal agreement
between CCI and the city over the Thomason Lane site. We plan to
resubmit this application, along with pursuing additional grants
and fundraising activities, if agreement can be reached on this
issue.
We appreciate the support we have received from the city as
we work toward finding a permanent location for this program.
Sincerely,
Debra Delegato
President, Board of Directors
Child Care Inc.
cc:
John Etter,.
