Review Draft Eastern Gateway Wetland Restoration Site -- Annual Report
conceptual design and goals prior to construction. To formulate site goals and
to assist the design team with the site design, a design charette was held on
April_ ?. All interested parties attended the all day charette, including
representatives from DSL, BLM, L -COG, and various City staff. This design
team provided good direction to the engineering design team by setting specific
goals and priorities for the final design. The engineering design team then
refined the conceptual design and circulated drafts to the design team for final
approval.
Fasten' biate iay %WandMthgahonSte
Construction activities began Timeline
in late September, and were
completed according to the TASK 1993
Jan Feb niarjnRtiayj.rnn Jul augtea oa Nov Dec
revised schedule due to the
change ordered for additional (Compile Data ._
excavation. Delta Construction Company submitted
the successful bid to remove fill material until the site was restored to the
original ground. Based on a comparison of the 1962 and 1994 site surveys, it
was estimated that approximately 10,556.72 cubic yard of fill should be
removed from the site.
The site was staked for constuction on September 8, 1993. Clearing and
grubbing began on September 9. On September 21 excavation activities
commenced. A dozer and loader worked to push the fill into large piles, while
- - . t.- five (and later seven) dump trucks continuously hauled fill ofiLthe. site. The
deposal site for the fill material was a private development with an authorized
fill permit from DSL /Corps (Ross -Murry) located on Danebo Street, north of
west 11th Ave.
On September , the contractor indicated that design elevations had been reached.
Upon inspection the members of the design team noticed that despite having
Page 6
