DRAFT <br /> City of Eugene ' <br /> Construction Site Management Practices Checklist <br /> ❑ Store wastes and hazardous materials including paints, acids, solvents, pesticides, <br /> fertilizers, petroleum products, adhesives and glues, cleaners, treated wood, and other <br /> construction materials properly. <br /> • Keep them inside or under a cover <br /> • Store hazardous materials inside a second container <br /> • Label containers clearly <br /> • Make sure lids are closed tightly _ <br /> • . Control stormwater run -on and runoff around storage areas <br /> • If a hazardous substance spills and could reach surface waters, notify the City of <br /> Eugene <br /> ❑ Do not discharge thinners, solvents, degreasing cleaners, wash water containing grit <br /> from detergents, washout from a concrete truck, or any other construction site debris <br /> into sanitary or storm sewers._ <br /> ❑ Dispose of washout from concrete trucks into: <br /> • A designated area which will later be backfilled (a slurry pit), or <br /> • An area where the concrete wash can harden, be broken up, and be put into a <br /> dumpster, or <br /> • A location which does not receive surface water runoff and which is more than <br /> 100 feet away from a storm drain, open ditch, or receiving water. <br /> ❑ Dispose of pesticides through a licensed waste management firm or a treatment, storage <br /> and disposal (TSD) company. Or, give extra material to a garden center or landscape <br /> service. <br /> 7 <br />
