have been employed to remove obstructing debris from this inlet during such
incidents. Due to the hazardous nature of this site when it is plugged, it would be
much safer and efficient for Maintenance personnel to remove obstructing debris
with mechanized equipment rather than by hand. In the past, access for hand
crews was possible across neighboring undeveloped residential lots. Due to
continued development along Wilshire Dr., such access is no longer possible. Since
there -ie existing maintenance easement for access, this inlet has bec ne tofally
landlocked. The City currently has a letter of agreement with the owner of the
residence at 3688 Wilshire Dr. to allow maintenance crews to cross the property on
foot to perform preventative or emergency maintenance. However, such agreement
does not allow access for mechanized equipment and would need to be negotiated
anew if the property changes hands.
Recommended Solution: Acquire easement necessary to allow access for mecha-
nized maintenance equipment. Easement does not necessarily have to be across
property at 3688 Wilshire Dr.
Status:
10. Location: Catch Basins in front of 902 & 907 Lariat Dr.
Nature of Problem: Catchbasin (N3E1 -6016) on north side, and
catchbasin /manhole (N3E1 -5116) on south side of Lariat Dr. at this location are
connected to an 8" pipe leading south along common property line of 902 and 920
Lariat Dr. This pipe extends only part of the way along the property line and is
neither connected to the storm drainage system or to a drainage ditch. Terminus
of the pipe (N3E1 -5929) has been covered by landscaping and /or fill by one or
more property owners resulting in minimal drainage at the catchbasins. This in
turn has resulted in frequent puddling on Lariat Dr. at this location.
Recommended Solution: Construct piped connection of catchbasins to existing
piped system located farther north on Lariat Dr. (N3E1 -6017) or acquire necessary
easement and construct piped connection to existing 36" piped system along
Oakway Rd.
Status:
11. Location: Open ditch along west side of Trainsong Park.
Nature of Problem: Open drainage ditch from i risen St. to the north edge of
Trainsong Park has a history of use as an illegal dumping site for old appliances,
tires, animal carcasses, household garbage, and drug paraphernalia resulting in
citizen complaints /requests for City maintenance action.
Recommended Solution: Enclose ditch to pipe from beginning of ditch at Larsen
St. to the north edge of Trainsong Park. If system is to connect with existing or
proposed systems to the west, include piped crossing under Hwy 99 with the
impending reconstruction project.
Status:
ciplist.upd 7/95 bne 5
