just north of W 37th Ave. (S4W1 -5915) and inlet to 24" pipe leading to Frederick
St. (S4W1 -5922) to eliminate potential maintenance problems associated with this
inlet. Reconstruct under -sized system components as appropriate.
Status:
6. Location: Catchbasins in front of 2438 Skyline Blvd.
Naturempf Problem: Catchbasins presumed to be bubblers (S 1 E2 -6071 Sl E2-
6072), have been verified by smoke testing as being connected directly to the sani-
tary sewer. Drainage catchment is necessary at this location to prevent localized
flooding due to a significant dip in Skyline Blvd.
Recommended Solution: Acquire necessary easement to construct a piped connec-
tion downhill along private property to the existing 12" piped system on Birch Ln.
Status: Engineering has assigned good job no. Surveying complete.
NOTE. This is an example of what is anticipated to be a series of storm /sanitary
cross- connection problems discovered through I/I investigation efforts that will require
correction through the capital storm rehab program.
7. Location: Summit Ave. at west entrance to Hendricks Park
Nature of Problem: Heavy runoff along south side gutter of Summit in the park
frequently overflows the sole catchbasin (S2E2 -6109) east of Hubbard and spills
across Summit to the north side. During freezing weather, this sheet flow across
the road turns to ice and creates a hazardous traffic condition on the hill.
Recommended Solution: Construct additional catchbasins along south side of the
Summit through the park. These could either be connected to the existing piped
system along the north side of Summit or a piped system could be constructed
down the south side of Summit to the existing catchbasin (S2E2 -6109) near the
west entrance to the park.
Status: Plans completed by Engineering and ready to go out to bid.
8. Location: Delta Highway, between Stapp Dr. N. and S., north of Green Acres
Rd.
Nature of Problem: Deep open ditch along east side of Delta Highway is large and
contains a volume of vegetation which is beyond the maintenance capabilities of
the adjoining property owners.
Recommended Solution:
Status: County has recently flail mowed the vegetation as a favor to the residents.
9. Location: Behind property at 3688 Wilshire Dr.
Nature of Problem: Hillside creek inlet (S2W3 -5907) to piped system has plugged
during heavy storms causing flooding onto this property. Historically, hand crews
ciplist.upd 7/95 bne 4
