fl <br /> � <br /> M E M O R A N D U M <br /> January 17, 1992 <br /> TO: Ben Bonner, Tree Maintenance Supervisor <br /> FROM: John Emmons, Traffic Systems Supervison& <br /> SUBJECT: TREE TRIMMING REQUIREMENTS FOR APWA PROJECTS FOR OVERHEAD CABLE <br /> Per your request, we have included the following in our APWA specifications for <br /> work requiring tree trimming for overhead cable installations: <br /> The Contractor shall trim tree limbs as required and approved by the <br /> Engineer to facilitate required vegetation clearances from overhead cable <br /> installations. The Contractor shall conform to the following requirements <br /> when pruning trees: <br /> 1. The Contractor shall employ a licensed professional Tree <br /> Trimming Service for the pruning /cutting of any trees. <br /> 2. All pruning shall be done according to the latest National <br /> Arborist Association Pruning Standards for Shade Trees. <br /> 3. City Tree Maintenance staff will have the final approval over <br /> methods and standards used to prune /cut trees. <br /> 4.
