The notice shall state the reason for the tree's removal, the estimated week it will be removed, a person to <br /> contact for further information, and that the record of examination and diagnosis is available for inspection <br /> at Public Works - Maintenance, 1820 Roosevelt Blvd., Eugene, Oregon 97402 -4199, (503) 687 -5220, <br /> during regular business hours. <br /> 3. The notice shall be on 8.5" x 11" sheet of florescent orange paper and placed on two sides of the tree <br /> facing traffic or where visible to the public. <br /> 4. Exception: A tree need not be posted if the tree is posing an imminent hazard to life or property, as <br /> determined by the City, and is being removed the same day it was noted. A written record of the <br /> examination shall be made and be available for public inspection as above. <br /> CITIZEN'S INQUIRY <br /> If a citizen has concerns that the findings may be inaccurate and/or the removal is not warranted for public <br /> safety then the citizen may contact the Urban Forester and: <br /> 1. request a field meeting with City staff for the purpose of explaining their concerns. City staff will <br /> reexamine and demonstrate, using the established criteria, the defects which require the tree's removal. <br /> 2. challenge the findings of the report and present evidence to the contrary. <br /> 3. present alternatives to removal. <br /> The City reserves the right to make the final determination on the tree's status. <br />
