, t . <br /> Pruning around electrical lines is limited to those qualified arborist under the direction <br /> of the Eugene Water and Electrical Board (EWEB). All line clearance work shall be <br /> performed as per the Intergovernmental Agreement between EWEB and the City of <br /> Eugene. <br /> Tree pruning for solar access, views, and other reasons is limited to that work that will <br /> do not significantly reduce the tree's vigor or structural soundness. <br /> PROTECIION FROM ADJACENT CONSTRUCHON <br /> City of Eugene's Stardari Specification for True Protection shall be employed on any <br /> construction projects engineered by either the City or private firms for trees to be <br /> retained either on private property, City rights -of -way, or municipal properties. <br /> City of Eugene's Stanckzd Specification for Tree Protection shall be employed on any <br /> maintenance work preformed by the City for trees to be retained either on private <br /> property, City rights -of -way, or municipal properties. <br /> City of Eugene's Standard Specification for Tree Protection shall be employed by any <br /> private contractor, working on private property when their activities may impact trees <br /> to be retained on City rights -of -way or municipal properties. <br /> HOUSE MOVING <br /> The Office of the Urban Forester (OUF) shall review all house moving routes along <br /> city rights -of -way to determine the move's impact on street trees. If the move along <br /> the proposed route necessitates the removal of a street tree, the OUF may permit the <br /> removal, or may require alternative approach be found. If the removal is permitted, <br /> then the permit holder shall be charge the value' of the tree and be required to remove <br /> the tree and stump at their expense. A replacement tree will be planted by the City at <br /> or near the site as per City's "Plaiting Standczds." <br /> City trees will be trimmed to accommodate house moving when in the opinion of the <br /> OUF the work will not significantly reduce the tree's vigor or structural soundness. <br /> The work will be done by City crews with costs to be charged to the permit holder. <br /> In addition, the OUF may require that a city staff person or tree crew be assigned for <br /> the duration of the move if there is reason to believe that additional tree work may be <br /> necessary during the move. This work will be charged to the permit holder. <br /> 'Tree value to be deterrnined using the latest edition of the "Guide for Plant Appraisal ", <br /> as issued by the International Society of Arboriculture. <br /> policy \protect.pol 9/13/94 <br />
