RECEIVED vilx ✓
RY CITY MANI a r` cn
MGR
Barbara Keller JUL 2 3 1993 • Me
City Councillor
cc
City of Eugene
Eugene, OR 9740
,Y. .. ro _.. ...k • EPT
Dear Barbara,
I am writing to express my support for the tree preservation
ordinance which was recently passed by the Council. I would also
encourage you to maintain it in basically its current form. Be-
cause the ordinance was in effect, and because of the helpfulness
of city staff last week, a group of neighbors here was able to in-
form the owner of a parcel of land that his plans to cut trees for
development was in violation of the law, and he is now in process
of acquiring proper permits. The ordinance creates a reasonable
mechanism for city review of planned development before the trees
are cut, rather that at a point where it is irreversible.
Thank you for your time in this matter.
Sincerely,
Ronna Friend
3265 Whitten Dr.
Eugene, OR 97405
