4. In the case of emergency where EWEB needs to perform work which impacts <br /> trees under City jurisdiction to eliminate an immediate threat to life <br /> or property, City waves the requirements of 1 through 3 above. Where <br /> EWEB has impacted trees under this provision they shall notify City of <br /> work performed within two working days of the incident. <br /> TREE REMOVAL s <br /> � � <br /> On the joint determination of EWEB and CITY staff that a`tree in conflict with <br /> utility lines needs to be removed the following process will be used. <br /> A. If the tree is less than twelve (12) inches dbh in diameter at breast <br /> heigh) EWEB will contact CITY and request a sit meeting to discuss the <br /> trees emoval. If staff from both agencies agree then EWEB may be <br /> remove without further processing. If City staff feel the removal is <br /> desirable but would be controversial then the process outlined in <br /> section "B" herein -below shall be used. <br /> B. If the tree is twelve (12) inches dbh or greater the standard CITY <br /> process of public posting shall be followed. <br /> Photographs and a written description of the reasons for removal 6 <br /> U` <br /> (/` will be collected by EWEB and submitted to CITY. << e <br /> 2. If the tree poses an immediate and severe hazard to life or -j <br /> property the tree may be removed without further notice. o n <br /> \ 3. A "Notice of Tree Removal" posting shall be plac on the tree. <br /> � This notice shall state the reasons for the t es removal, <br /> approximate date the tree is to be removed, f a replacement tree <br /> is planned, state the location in which the photographs and <br /> C l documentation supporting this decision may be viewed, and include <br /> \ a CITY telephone number for questions. <br /> 4. CITY staff will evaluate all comments received regarding the <br /> proposed tree removal and if appropriate authorize its removal .0 <br /> ` 5.
