EWEB.WP Page 4 <br /> b) If the tree poses an immediate and severe hazard to life or property the <br /> - tree may be removed without further notice. <br /> c) A "Notice of Tree Removal" posting shall be placed on the tree. This <br /> notice shall include: <br /> (1) Reasons for the planned removal: <br /> (a) Where photographs and documents supporting this decision may be <br /> viewed: <br /> (b) Name and telephone number of city contact person. <br /> (2) Approximate date of the planned removal <br /> (3) Approximate date and species of replacement trees <br /> d) CITY staff will evaluate all comments received regarding the proposed tree <br /> removal and, if appropriate, make a determination on its removal. <br /> e) Upon receiving authorization from CITY staff, EWEB will remove the tree. <br /> f) The tree stump will be removed by the CITY with costs to be reimbursed by <br /> EWEB. <br /> g) In instances where the tree needs to be removed for reasons in addition to <br /> conflict with utility lines, the removal and replacement costs may be <br /> prorated as agreed to by EWEB and CITY staff on a case by case basis. <br /> E. TREE PLANTING <br /> CITY and EWEB agree that whenever a tree has been removed it is in the best interest of <br /> the community to have replacement trees planted. When a tree has been allowed to be <br /> removed at EWEB's request due to conflict with utility lines the following replacement <br /> criteria will be used: <br /> 1. Two replacement trees shall be planted for each mature street tree allowed to be <br /> removed. Replacement trees shall be planted by CITY with costs to be reimbursed <br /> by EWEB. The City's Urban Forester shall select the replacement trees from a <br /> list of species and caliper which is developed and agreed on by EWEB and CITY. <br /> (SEE ATTACHED LIST) <br /> 2. Replacement trees shall be planted within the right -of -way abutting the same <br /> taxlot as where the mature tree was removed unless deemed impractical by the <br /> Urban Forester. If such is the case, the Urban Forester will endeavor to plant <br /> the replacement trees within the local neighborhood. <br /> 3.
