POTENTIAL CODE VIOLATION
Staff from the Urban Forestry Office inspected the subject tax lot(s) on July 6, 1999 and identified
violations of the permit requirements and permit criteria of the Tree Preservation Code, as
follows:
1. Tax Lot #1803032300400: Seventeen (17) trees had been or were being removed
from the lot.
2. Tax Lot # 1803032301100: Thirty (30) trees had been or were being removed from
the lot.
Based on a review of City records, no Tree Removal Permits or other City permits have
been issued authorizing this tree removal activity.
Please be advised that any tree removal activity on the above tax lot(s) in violation of the Tree
Preservation Code is subject to a maximum fine of $4,000 through municipal civil court for each
tree illegally removed (EC 6.990), and an additional administrative civil fine of $500 per removed
tree. In addition, the City may initiate other legal proceedings to enforce code compliance
including, but not limited to, the issuance of a Stop Work Order, and revocation or suspension of
any issued permits (EC 6.990).
To ensure that work on your property complies with all Tree Removal Permit requirements,
please contact the Urban Forestry Office immediately (541/682 -4800) to schedule a Code
Compliance Meeting with City staff. Failure to schedule a Code Compliance Meeting within 5
working days of the date of this letter will result in the initiation of civil and administrative
penalties. Thank you for your cooperation in resolving this matter.
For CITY OF EUGENE:
W//
Robert J. nkston, P.E.
Maintenance Director
Public Works Department
cc: File
p:Aannlpotential viol.wpd
