EUGENE PMub a Works <br /> City of Eugene <br /> 1820 Roosevelt Boulevard <br /> Eugene, Oregon 97402 <br /> NOTICE (541) 682 -4800 <br /> OF <br /> POTENTIAL TREE CODE VIOLATION <br /> July 8, 1999 <br /> Mr. Max Ansola, Jr. <br /> 2423 Moon Mountain Drive <br /> Eugene, OR 97403 <br /> RE: Tree Removal on Tax Lot #1803032300400 and Tax Lot # 1803032301100 <br /> The City of Eugene Urban Forestry Office finds that tree removal activity on the above tax lot(s) <br /> appears to be a violation of the Eugene Tree Preservation Code (EC 6.300). <br /> PERMIT REQUIRED <br /> Except as provided in EC 6.330, Exceptions, the Eugene Tree Preservation Code requires a Tree <br /> Removal Permit for removal of live trees 8" in diameter or larger under the following <br /> circumstances (EC 6.305): <br /> a) Felling of more than 5 trees on a parcel of 20,000 square feet in area or larger; <br /> b) Felling of 1 or more trees on a parcel less than 20,000 square feet in area. <br /> c) Felling of any tree within a public right -of -way. <br /> PERMIT APPROVAL CRITERIA <br /> The Eugene Tree Preservation Code establishes a number of criteria that all tree removal activities <br /> are required to meet, including, but not limited to the following criteria (EC 6.320): <br /> a) Tree removal is the minimum necessary to construct the approved property improvements <br /> or development. <br /> b) Tree removal is compatible with generally accepted principles of silviculture and ecology. <br /> c) Tree removal is consistent with the site's future development potential and the <br /> preservation of important natural values. <br /> d) Clear cuts shall be avoided so as to retain a wooded character of future building sites. <br />
