Project IEP City gene- Hatmaker- Johnston <br /> Russia On this project, Mr. Loudon will: (a) consult with administration and partners to develop an interpretive plan; <br /> (b) engage in pre-planning with multiple participants; (c) create and conduct a 4-day planning workshop for partners and <br /> community members; (d) conduct audience analysis; (e) oversee the creation of an Interpretive Plan and achievable <br /> timeline; and (f) contribute to progress reports and evaluation. <br /> Education Materials Development <br /> The Education Materials Development staff is responsible for development of the Training Manual for use with <br /> docents. This work will be coordinated through the Lane Council of Governments (LCOG). Steve Gordon, a senior <br /> planner at LCOG, has been involved with the West Eugene Wetlands Program since its inception. He will have a major <br /> advising role in this Interpretive and Education Planning project and will coordinate Education Materials Development. <br /> Education Materials Coordinator/Senior Planner (Contract LCOG): Mr. Gordon has a BS in Geography and <br /> graduate studies from the University of Oregon. He is a senior planner at LCOG with over 25 years experience in <br /> transportation, land use, and natural resources planning. He was the project manager for the West Eugene Wetland Plan <br /> ( 1992) and has served as the Intergovernmental Wetland Coordinator for this project since its inception. He brings to the <br /> project, a clear understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of the wetlands restoration partnership. He has written <br /> many documents about the Plan and has presented the Plan in conferences in fifteen states. He has assisted the partners <br /> - before Congress regarding the Plan and has led numerous field trips to the wetlands. Mr. Gordon has taught in EPA <br /> workshops and at Oregon State University (Geosciences Department) about wetlands, watersheds and natural resources <br /> planning. On this project, Mr. Gordon will: (a) contribute an historical perspective to the planning and creation of an <br /> accurate and informative interpretive document that represents the interests of all partners; (b) coordinate the development <br /> of educational training materials for use with docents, (c) advise on matters related to the business plan, and (d) provide <br /> input into the Interpretive Plan.. <br /> Education Curriculum Developer (Contract LCOG): Beverly Farfan has a BA in Sociology from California State <br /> University, Long Beach, and several certificates in teaching from various universities. She is a certified teacher and <br /> currently works part time at Lane Community College. On this proposed project, she will serve as the Curriculum <br /> Developer. She recently retired from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service where she was the Education Specialist for Region 7, <br /> Alaska. For nine years she developed K-12 environmental education materials, programs, and trainings. In this capacity <br /> Ms. Farfan will: (a) participate in the research, design, and development of the Wetland Education Guide (Phase 1) for <br /> volunteer docents; (b) network with public school and environmental educators, scientists, and planners; (c) oversee the <br /> development of Wetland Cards of local plants & animals; (d) oversee the gathering and coordinate the creation of text and <br /> 17 <br /> • <br />
