Video was good. <br />Would you prefer that next year's training event concentrate on personal development <br />topics (such as worksite environment) or program information (such as Maxicom and <br />stormwater)? <br />Personal Development 24 Combination 27 Program Information 5 <br />...____ Interesting topics we are at work everyday, training day should be a little more <br />related. I was not able to attend many of the trainings but I think a combination <br />is nice. I would like to see more personal development with a few program info. <br />More work on sexual harassment. It was obvious from employee comments that some <br />people simply do not get it. Like police officer information and child abuse <br />information only, maybe next year we could hear about the bomb team, swat team, K -9 <br />dog, drug dog? 1. PWM funding mechanisms and how they fit together for the <br />division too. Other now profit org's such as Willamette Wildlife Rehabilitation <br />could give a talk /presentation. Inter - division /department cooperation: customer <br />orientation/ response: pro- active program areas. A good balance appeals to a <br />greater number of diversified interests and reduces the risk of boredom occurring. <br />Construction related to ADA, Horticulture practices, Integrated Pst Management, LAN, <br />Parks Planning, Urban Forestry. I prefer a variety. "How to become a happy <br />person through work development." Pro's /con's /pitfalls of cross training. Dealing <br />w /customers in field situations. A work /comment /suggestion session relating to <br />productivity and efficiency. How to handle emergency situations on the radio and in <br />the field. Proper procedure for getting cars towed from worksites. How about 2 <br />workshop for Exempts on grievances, arbitration procedures. It seems that all union <br />stewards receive a training on this but exempts get very little. Stormwater and <br />I &I. Communications with crew and supervisors ie. lead workers techniques do's and <br />don'ts. I do not have any preference. <br />LUNCH <br />Did the heated equipment bay area work better for the lunch and awards than previous <br />locations? Better 41 Same 9 Not as well 5 <br />That area worked out great. Good food, good location and helpers. Easier to see and <br />hear. Worked well for food set up. Lines went faster than in shop. A bay is still <br />a bay. Have the festivities in a festive place. A dinner separate from training <br />would be better. What does public safety do? More hot food. More even <br />temperature in the building. Just enough room. No crew ownership to the buildings <br />more neutral settings. Nice -Warm- Clean - Thanks. Need more chicken - why pay $4 and <br />no chicken. Keep heat on. I wasn't able to go to lunch until after 12:30pm by <br />that time all the chicken was gone, so I didn't have the lunch I paid for. Luckily <br />there were plenty of potluck dishes left and this food was very good. Went very <br />well, think it should be an option if employee wants to go outside to get lunch at <br />same time. The equipment bay seemed adequate -since this was my first training day, <br />I can not make a comparison. First time attending, can't compare. It seemed to <br />work okay. Place coffee /pop, etc. at 4 corners of room; same with trash <br />receptacles. I'm a new employee; nothing to compare. Although a little crowded, <br />it left a little intimacy and party spirit to the overall ambiance of the event. <br />Both seem to work equally as well. I'll eat good food anyplace or anytime <br />especially at such a low cost. Shop seemed to work much better. Maybe we would be <br />better served to discontinue the event around Christmas and New Years and explore <br />other dates and options. Line outside too long. Great facility for this <br />function. Perhaps a raised platform for the presentations would be beneficial. It <br />worked out great. Don't have any previous experience to compare, but facility in <br />bay was great!!! I feel that the main shop worked better for lunch and awards. <br />It was very comfortable. First year with City - I thought lunch area was good. <br />
