CHILD ABUSE TREATMENT
Was this session beneficial? Yes 52 No 8
How would you rate the presentation? Excellent 24 Good 23 Average 7 Poor . 2
Good presentation and information about the children. For most people this would
have given them good information. Its just that I'm well aware of all that was
presented. Not related to work. Does not pertain to work. Seen her before - same
presentation except for new building. How is this relevant to Public Works? SCAR
is a great cause but, personally I feel a better use of public funds would have been
to include some aspect that might actually have to do with our jobs. The
presentation was about the agency. I would have preferred a discussion on abuse -
what to look for and what actions a concerned citizen can take. Perhaps the city
could help by donations of work, materials or equipment. It's really good to hear
about places that help kid out? Thought provoking about community involvement.
Don't snap at kids no more. Very informative and an eye opener. Did not attend
the whole session -fix the video. Stimulated thinking about a sense of community and
mutual support. Good presentation. Tear jerker. This was a good way to get
information out to the community. More child abuse education and less prison.
Info. sessions such as this are not work related and I think our focus should be
work. However, as a one time presentation it was very beneficial. This
presentation was more of a "plug" for the SCAR org than it was a presentation on
child abuse /treatment. Never the less -good information. It is good to review the
topic before the holidays. Good presentation as public employees, we need to be
aware of what to look for. Not there. Very eye opening - well presented.
SAFE DRIVING
Was this session beneficial? Yes 57 No 4
How would you rate the presentation? Excellent 27 Good 23 Average 1 Poor 0
Very good speaker. She was able to talk to us and not be so serious like most
police officers are. Having a female office was a good idea. They don't have such
a.big ego. For most people this would have given them good information. Its just
that I'm aware of all that was presented. The DUI information was good, but was
hoping for a larger presentation on safe driving habits, etc. Interesting and well
presented. Difficult to hear. Police officer had entertaining style. She was very
difficult to hear. Might try to relate presentation more to work. Good choice of
officers. The officer told it like it is. I thought it was a real eye opener. I
feel a better use of public funds would have been to include some aspect that might
actually have to do with our jobs. Since I do not drink and drive, it was
entertaining but not useful in being a "better" driver. Don't drink and drive,
period! Very good audience interaction. Good speaker. Great speaker. Was hard to
hear. Lots of good comments. Perhaps I expected more not just about DUII
arrests. Because of noise from building project was hard to hear speaker. Do more
than one time per year. Did not attend the whole session but enjoyed the speaker.
An "eye- opening" presentation regarding the need for safe - driving consciousness, and
the rude but awakening consequences (potentially) for those who disregard their
responsibility for compliance. We should have officer Axtell Back- She was good a
presenting this topic -Good sense of humor. A very good presentation. This lady's
demonstration was good and sobering /put me in touch with our police folks. This
session was work related and may be good to do something similar every other year.
I think once a year would be overkill -If we do something of the same nature next
year. I would suggest we hire and pay some of the speakers from presentations put
on by MADD. Officer Axtell did a great job. Do some breathilizer tests on select
employees. Best looking police officer I ever saw! Her message was expressed
professionally and to the point with a good sense of humor to keep it on a medium
for all to benefit. I enjoyed this session. Not there. It was great to hear about
the job the Police are doing against drunk drivers.
