Larry Pedersen
With the recent upturn in development activity, the three Engineering staff
at the Permit and Information Center have seen a considerable increase in
their workload. During a four -month period last winter, they reviewed 525
commercial and residential permits -- that's 80 to 90 percent of all permits
issued at the Center!! -- and responded to 26 percent of all development
customer service questions. Ron Robinson will accept the award honoring the
commitment and dedication of the following people:
Charles Nordgaard
Duane Bischoff
Ron Robinson
Awards of Productivity
o Awards recognize service delivery improvements, such as.going beyond the
call of duty to deliver a service to the public or for showing extraordi-
nary initiative in delivering a service.
Frank Reeves: Since Frank became lead worker on the street asphalt crew, the
number of street repairs has increased substantially. Frank's effort has
also extended the life and safety of City streets.
Harold Powers works at the Maintenance service station and is recognized for
his customer service attitude. Focusing on preventative maintenance for City
vehicles, Harold has substantially improved the maintenance program, increas-
ing the life of vehicles and reducing replacement costs.
Mike Tusek (TOO SEK) and Shawna Sully are receiving an award of productivity
for their work on the airport landscaping program. They have put in extra
time and effort to make it a success. These two care for the 22 acres of new
landscaping that is part of the airport expansion project.
Have Mike and Shawna both come forward to accept the award.
Special Recognition
o Have Dave Ritter and Dave Colley (COLLIE) from Maintenance and Bob Noble
from Transportation come up on stage.
These three people deserve special recognition. In April, they were recog-
nized by the American Public Works Association. Dave Ritter received an
State of Oregon Award of Merit for improving the safety record and customer
service ethic of his crew and for his work in creating a training school for
maintenance workers. This is the highest award the APWA gives to public - - -=
works employees and is awarded once a year for outstanding and dedicated
service.
Bob Noble and Dave Colley received certificates of nomination from the organ-
ization for their dedication to improving Public Works programs.
