Best was the equipment on show and display and the operator to explain how it
was used and worked. Worst was my children felt they should be able to ride
on the Stel ( ?) Scope. Need to have a height requirement for children( ?)
Thanks, family had a good time.
Best was the weather, it was all good! The different pieces of equipment that
were both display only and hands on. The sewer TV truck , WWTP's display.
The worst was the sound for the speakers,
Maybe we can do colorful posters in public areas like the library, post
offices, high schools, etc. The tour guides should go on the tour first,
operators can answer a lot, but the tour guides should know something about
the area too.
Best part was the employee involvement: I saw a lot of pride showing in all
the different areas of displays. All the employees helping were wonderful at
their duties. Worst was the opening : "BORING ". Also, not nearly as many
"John Q. Public" attended as I thought would, maybe more advertising was
needed. Offer the tour to more grade school children, retirement centers
for seniors tours. Might give out buttons with City of Eugene or Public
Works mentioned, give out little plastic hard hats for children, bring back
the hot dogs!
Best was equipment operation.
All of it was good.
All events were good.
Best was equipment demo. Worst was speaker, could hardly hear.
Most employees seemed enthusiastic and helpful to the public. Worst part -
shuttle buses did not run on time, people sometimes had to wait 45 minutes.
Best part was the kids, worst was no food. Need more food.
Best was the children, worst was need more people.
Best was positive public contact. Worst was P.R. hype and cost. Figure out
how to make the event seem worth while to city and employees. Is this thing
worth the effort? No answers by P.R. types. We may want to experiment with
our procedures with crowd handling, ie. tour guides for everyone, limited
group size 10 -15 per tour guide. Limit "hands on" demonstrations as crowd.
Best was over all a good day, nothing was bad. Maybe need to force more
people through the equipment before going to the operation area. Popcorn
and RC went over very good!
Best was the little kids. Worst was how long it was and no food. Let the
workers think of things to do.
Best was large machine operation. Need to have more machines running other
than dump truck, and back hoes. Not sure if it would make any difference
in attendance if time was extended.
Best was not having to work, pop and popcorn. Worst was the siren in the
shop, have hot dogs.
