Best was open to public, worst was attendance. Need more community involve-
ment, better hours. Need more & wider pre event publicity, possibly involve
community groups or indididuals in planning and helping during event.
Best part was hands on driving /operating.
Best part was being open to the public, worst was being limited to one area
of display. Need to be sure to have a desiginated prize for such things as
guessing the weight of the gravel on the dump truck. Also running later would
make the event more successful.
Best was displays & equipment operation. Worst was not having enough time to
get to see it all. Need to make sure there were enough relief people so we
could see the event also. Everyone I talked to said it was ekcellent.
Best was seeing the people have a good time. Worst was it turned out to be a
long day. Need to change nothing.
Best was it gives employees a chance to show what they do. Worst was that it
was not well attended by department especially top management. Need better
attemdance by both the city and the public.
Letting public operate the equipment was best, worst was standing in the
parking lot all day. Need to have more relief for employees. I think it is
a good idea letting the public see the equipment and how it operates.
Best was letting people actuallly handle the equipment. Worst was parking
problems early in the day.
Best was operating equipment.
Best was (as per the public) the rides and demos. Worst was that some
employees were not doing anything but standing around and some even playing
basketball. Need to find more jobs for those with free time, allowing more
times for others for a break. I thought the whole thing went very well and
from public stand point; they really enjoyed it. The only disappointment was
that young children could not ride in lift bucket. We need to have a small
belt made that will fit kids.
Best was displays of equipment, the excitement of the little folks and opera-
tion of various types of equipment. Worst was area was too large to tour.
Need to decrease area. Very good job of coordination.. Need to provide larger
signs for displays, equipment and routing of public.
Best was running the back hoe and gradeall. Worst was standing on my feet for
s00000 long. Need to change - get more people to come from the public and see
that they get through the entire facility including Transportation. We need
to be a lot more aggressive in getting our school aged people here and use
that as advertisement in order to get the parents here also.
Best was the kids, employees involved and enjoying it. Some had more fun than
guests. Worst was the opening ceremony was horrible. You couldn't hear and
who wanted to. Have a ceremony, only make it nore interesting. Did not even
know the speaker! Have Gleason and Whitlow, etc. stick around like they do
for other events. Here are ones I heard from public: have kids tours all
day, better publiciity, have hot dogs, should last longer, arrows marking
tour route, larger display signs, more displays in large conference room,
operators were really patient and good with kids.
