Best was equipment operation, worst was display of small equipment. Need
relocation of some of the equipment so that it is in the flow pattern.
No more time. Need more news media coverage prior to the event, also invite
the newspaper people during the event. Gene should get a raise., he worked
hard on this plus he had 3 tours of kids.
Best was the opportunities to operate the various pieces of equipment.
Launch a more aggressive advertising plan, press release followed by a
second and last press release. Have flyers go up in public buildings all
over Eugene.
Best was the public expressing real interest in what we do. Worst was not
enough visitors.
Worst was more adults and not as many kids running equipment. Once every 2
years. Would like to see more private citizens involved.
Best was all of it. Have hot dogs for all.
A note from the transcriber: I felt there was lots of publicity. I saw
hundreds of flyers prepared to be displayed all over the city, read news-
paper ads and saw blurbs on tv, so feel Sandra did a good job. It was
either lack of interest or the timing is not right. Many of City folks are
interested but demand of the job prevented. I went last year but missed
seeing some things and would like to have gone back. A "carrot" might help,
or having extended (different) hours.
Best was Public Works employees were very courteous and helpful; helped
public (taxpayers) become more aware of what Public Works Dept really does
for the City.
Worst was it is important to get more public awareness and participation.
Would like to have the event again next year.
Best part was the backhoe and aerial lift. Worst was it ended to early and
the direction of the tour was confusing. It should be scheduled later to
have working people attend too. Would like to have the event again next
year. Get a real celebrity, even a U of 0 athlete or someone well known.
The best was the "boom" aerial lift and driving the sweepers. I thought
everything went well. Change nothing, Good Job!! Have the event again
next year. My roommate brought a few kids from the community to the event
and they had a ball. I thought it was an originial idea to invite the public.
The best part was having the families come. The worst part was the day
seemed like it went on forever.
Best part was the games. Worst part was the potatoe salad ( ? ?) Everything
was great. Have event again next year.
Best part was the popcorn, drinks and meeting new people. Worst part was it
was too long. Have event next year and have free hotdogs.
Best part was the pop and popcorn. I think we need hot dogs next year. The
worst part was standing all day waiting for the people to come. Need more
relief for the people who just stand and show the equipment. Have the event
next year.
Change nothing. Have event next year.
