MEDLIN Johnny R
From:
DELESS Russ D
Sent:
Wednesday, November 26, 2008 1:56 PM
To:
MEDLIN Johnny R
Cc:
LANKSTON Jeff
Subject:
FW: Laurelwood Golf Course update
The outfall Josh is referring to, 54178, is most likely the source of neighborhood concerns. Some folks have asked about
the water in the creek, stating that it is less than years before. At least one property owner would like it restored to a
higher flow. The vault has the ability to weir board the flow if we choose but the interesting thing we found was that the
outfall, which was built for both an overflow point and a source of continued water in the small creek, seems to have
been capped. No one knows how that occurred or why. I expect some other property owner may have wanted less water
in the creek.
The note below identifies a possible cross connect from a field drain to the sanitary sewer. Inspection of the Sanitary
sewer did not identify that. It appears that the french drain was dug in to facilitate using the trench backfill of the sanitary
sewer as a continuance of the drainage (aggregate).
Investigation of the irrigation system resulted in finding a small PVC line thru the public storm. It is the reason for one of
the voids. It is not part of the irrigation system maintained by POS staff. It may have been trenched in with a trencher
and since the public storm line is pretty shallow it may have went undiscovered at the time.
Russ
From:
COLLEY Josh D
Sent:
Wednesday, November 26, 2008 1:08 PM
To:
DELESS Russ D
Subject:
FW: Laurelwood Golf Course update
Russ,
Here is the e-mail I sent to Jim. Since this, we have called in locates on the line segment with the voids (MH# 66495 and
MH# 51958) and are looking to make those repairs once the locates are completed. Additionally, we have located the
location of the SW outfall #54178 and called in locates so that we can open the outfall back up so that it functions as
designed.
Josh Colley
From:
COLLEY Josh D
Sent:
Friday, November 07, 2008 3:24 PM
To:
MCLAUGHLIN Jim T
Cc:
HEIL Richard J
Subject:
Laurelwood Golf Course update
Jim,
Here is an update of what work has occurred at Laurelwood Golf Course in the last month.
• Subsurface ops cleaned stormwater structure # 54260 and removed approximately 3.5 tons of sediment.
• Subsurface ops has identified 2 voids in 12" stormwater line segment between MH# 66459 and MH# 51958 and will
look to make repairs.
• Subsurface ops is currently investigating the location of Stormwater outfall # 54178. The outfall is believed to be
buried and no longer functioning.
• Subsurface ops is currently investigating the posibility of a private storm drainage connection to the public
wastewater system at MH # 2085.
• Subsurface ops is looking at line segments to inspect using CCTV truck.
