Enhance wetland habitats at North and South Taylor and the Long Tom ACEC and other lands in
the West Eugene Wetlands for rare wetland plants, pollinators, grassland birds, and associated
species, through the addition of native seed of diverse, locally- adapted species to compete with
nonnative invasive species and to bolster populations of native species degraded in the past by
trespass livestock.
1. Coordinate the West Eugene Wetlands plant materials program and collect seed of specific
native species from wetland remnants to maintain genetically diverse seed production at local
nurseries. This program will provide native plant materials for enhancement actions at North &
South Taylor, the Long Tom ACEC, and on other partner lands in the WEW.
2. Create site - specific mixes of locally adapted native seeds using seed purchased via the WEW
plant materials program. Distribute native seed in areas treated for weed control at North and
South Taylor, the Long Tom ACEC, and other wetlands in the West Eugene area.
1 of16
