I appreciate knowing how it's going with the permit holders, so we can think about how
we handle the permit requirements for next year.
Neil
From: CLARK John T
Sent: Tuesday, November 03, 2009 3:37 PM
To: BJORKLUND Neil H
Subject: FW: Golden Gardens Violations
Neil,
I am forwarding the email below to you also at Clara's recommendation.
Also, for your information, Clara and I talked wit , another permit holder. Pete asked for the new
combination, claiming that he had permission to continue training his dog from the farmer, Rob Irwin. I called Rob to
confirm, before calling Pete back, and Rob claimed that he did not give Pete or any other dog trainer permission to train
on the leased land. When I called Pete, he said he had verbal permission a couple years back for him and some of his
friends. I let him know that I talked with Rob and let him know that things have changes since the restoration work and
that he would need written permission and would still have to park outside the park and walk in, as the letter said.
I think a few of the dog trainers are having a hard time with the new rules around the use of Golden Gardens.
Thanks,
John
From: CLARK John T
Sent: Monday, November 02, 2009 3:38 PM
To: MATSLER Clara T
Cc: WOLD Eric N
Subject: Golden Gardens Violations
Clara,
Approximately two weeks ago I was at Golden Gardens Park with Zane looking at some additional areas to mow. I
encountered three vehicles parked in the field west of the main pond. I approached them and asked for their permits
and asked them it they knew they were in an area that did not allow parking. They acknowledged it was a no- parking
area, but said they figured they had been coming here for years and thought it would be okay. I explained to them that
the City was trying to accommodate all users of the park and that the permit changes were a reflection of that. I asked
them to please move their vehicles to the parking area and to only park therein the future. I also reminded them that
their permits would expire at the end of the month.
