As a result of cost savin earl in the g rant and the efficienc of invasive species contractors,, the Cit <br />of Eu was able to accomplish si more invasive species control than the ori set out <br />to do under this g rant. See Appendix A — Invasive Species Control Photos for photos of blackberr <br />y ellow fla iris, and En iv control efforts. <br />Immediatel after construction, a blend of soil and compost was blown to a thickness of 3" onto the <br />c,urface of the new riparian benches usin a local contractor with a lar blower truck (see Appendix A - <br />Bench Construction Photos). The purpose of this soil compost blend was to provide a g ood medium for <br />c,eed g ermination and to provide nutrients and conserve moisture for newl planted trees and shrubs. <br />The cost of amendin the soil and seedin the new riparian benches was funded b both this g rant <br />(OWEB 209-3007) and a g rant from the Ore Department of Fish and Wildlife under the Ore 150 <br />g rant program. <br />
