<br />Loam preparation, grading, seeding, mulching and cleanup and any other landscape related items <br />shall be considered incidental work. If deemed by the representative of the City that trimming, <br />cutting and/or removal of shrubs or roots in order to construct the ramp the work will be considered <br />incidental work. <br /> <br />IRRIGATION <br />Where conflicts of privately owned irrigation systems are within the limits of construction of the new <br />ADA ramp in the right-of-way the contractor shall be responsible for notifying the owner of the <br />impacts. The contractor is responsible for leaving the privately owned irrigation system in a <br />condition equal to the condition prior to the contractor’s activities. The associated costs will be <br />incidental to the completion of the work. <br /> <br />CURB AND GUTTER REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT <br />When the gutter bar portion of the curb and gutter is removed along an asphalt street, at least 24 <br />inches of asphalt concrete shall be removed to allow sufficient room for placement of the forms for <br />the new face for the gutter and proper compaction of asphalt restoration. Curb & Gutter Removal <br />and Replacement required to construct the ramp, will be considered incidental work. <br /> <br />UTILITY ADJUSTMENTS <br />Valve covers and manhole rim and cover adjustments will be performed by the contractor as part of <br />the ramp construction and will be considered incidental work. <br /> <br />ASPHALT REPLACEMENT <br />Asphalt patches shall be placed to a depth matching the existing pavement or 4 inches, whichever <br />is greater. The asphalt shall be class “C” mix and shall not be placed thicker than 2” or thinner <br />than 1 inch. After final compaction, all joints between new and existing paving shall be sealed with <br />CSS-1 paving asphalt, and sanded to prevent pickup and tracking. <br /> <br />INSPECTION <br />The repair, including backfill and surface restoration, will be inspected visually during and after the <br />actual work. If it is deemed necessary by City staff that further methods of testing are required, the <br />City will order the appropriate tests and assume responsibility for the cost <br /> <br />Acceptance of final product and adequacy of the constructed ramp shall be determined by City <br />staff. Unacceptable final products will require correction of deficiencies at the Contractors expense. <br /> <br />The work shall be covered by a one year warranty period, after which the City will re-inspect and <br />upon acceptance issue an end of warranty notification. <br /> <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for requesting the inspection of concrete forms 24 hour prior to <br />pouring concrete to insure the finished concrete meets specifications. <br /> <br />PERMITS <br />The City will assume responsibility for any required local and state construction permits. <br /> <br />CLEAN UP <br />Upon completion of the repair work the Contractor shall reinstate the project area affected by the <br />operations within 48 hours. <br /> <br /> <br />8 <br />PI RFQ 2010200077 Sidewalk Access Ramps <br /> <br /> <br />
