Loam preparation, grading, seeding, mulching and cleanup and any other landscape related <br />items shall be considered incidental work. If deemed by the representative of the City that <br />trimming, cutting and /or removal of shrubs or roots in order to construct the ramp the work will <br />be considered incidental work. <br />IRRIGATION <br />Where conflicts of privately owned irrigation systems are within the limits of construction of the <br />new ADA ramp in the right -of -way the contractor shall be responsible for notifying the owner of <br />the impacts. The contractor is responsible for leaving the privately owned irrigation system in a <br />condition equal to the condition prior to the contractor's activities. The associated costs will be <br />incidental to the completion of the work. <br />CURB AND GUTTER REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT <br />When the gutter bar portion of the curb and gutter is removed along an asphalt street, at least <br />24 inches of asphalt concrete shall be removed to allow sufficient room for placement of the <br />forms for the new face for the gutter and proper compaction of asphalt restoration. Curb & <br />Gutter Removal and Replacement required to construct the ramp, will be considered incidental <br />work. <br />UTILITY ADJUSTMENTS <br />Valve covers and manhole rim and cover adjustments will be performed by the contractor as <br />part of the ramp construction and will be considered incidental work. <br />ASPHALT REPLACEMENT <br />Asphalt patches shall be placed to a depth matching the existing pavement or 4 inches, <br />whichever is greater. The asphalt shall be class "C" mix and shall not be placed thicker than 2" <br />or thinner than 1 inch. After final compaction, all joints between new and existing paving shall be <br />sealed with CSS -1 paving asphalt, and sanded to prevent pickup and tracking. <br />INSPECTION <br />The repair, including backfill and surface restoration, will be inspected visually during and after <br />the actual work. If it is deemed necessary by City staff that further methods of testing are <br />required, the City will order the appropriate tests and assume responsibility for the cost <br />Acceptance of final product and adequacy of the constructed ramp shall be determined by City <br />staff. Unacceptable final products will require correction of deficiencies at the Contractors <br />expense. <br />The work shall be covered by a one year warranty period, after which the City will re- inspect and <br />upon acceptance issue an end of warranty notification. <br />The Contractor shall be responsible for requesting the inspection of concrete forms 24 hour <br />prior to pouring concrete to insure the finished concrete meets specifications. <br />PERMITS <br />The City will assume responsibility for any required local and state construction permits. <br />CLEAN UP <br />Upon completion of the repair work the Contractor shall reinstate the project area affected by <br />the operations within 48 hours. <br />Page 3 <br />
