Section 6. Maintenance Agreement. <br />City and District share the goal of having as high a standard of maintenance as is affordable and <br />practicable. Standards, tasks, respective responsibilities and Park Premises at the Youth Sports Parks <br />have been established (Appendix B) that govern how maintenance is to be performed. Everyeffortwill <br />be made by City and District to provide for on-going and annual maintenance through a combination <br />sources, including but not limited to: volunteer activity and maintenance fees paid by user groups. For <br />the past approximate 18 years, the District and City have had a successful partnership in jointly <br />maintaining City and District properties that adjoin one another. It is intended that the partnership and <br />working relationship be continued for the Youth Sports Parks and fields covered under this Agreement. <br />6.1 Maintenance Committee. A maintenance committee has been established, composed <br />of the City Park Operations Manager, a representative of the City Recreation Services Division , the <br />District Grounds Supervisor, and District Athletic Director and/or Facilities Director. The maintenance <br />committee will review,cost allocations and maintenance standards as described below. All decisions of <br />the committee will be made by consensus. <br />6.2 Costs. The City and District will share in the remaining cost of on-going and annual <br />maintenance and custodial services based on the pro-rata share of community vs. school district use. <br />Use will be "weighted" to allow for the amount of use and the impact of fields and play areas by <br />different sports and uses. Periodic replacement and major repair and maintenance costs will be borne in <br />the same ratio. The City shall be responsible for the cost of all scheduled or regular community use that <br />is not paid for directly by the users. The cost allocation for each year will be determined by the <br />maintenance committee. After each year, the committee will evaluate actual usage vs. allocated costs, <br />and make adjustments into the following year so as to balance any substantive inequities from the prior <br />year. <br />6.3 Standards. The standard for quality of maintenance, which will be mutually established <br />by City and District, will be based on local application of national standards published by the National <br />Recreation and Parks Association. The standards, tasks, respective responsibilities, and Park Premises at <br />the Youth Sports Parks are attached as Appendix B. These standards, tasks, responsibilities and service <br />areas will be reviewed annually by the City Park Operations Manager and the District Grounds <br />Supervisor and may be adjusted by the Maintenance Committee. <br />6.4 Implementation. There shall be joint responsibility by City and District for completing <br />maintenance work.
