AANDERUD Kris
From:
AANDERUD Kris
Sent:
Tuesday, February 03, 2009 2:27 PM
To:
ZUCKER Richard
Cc:
LEGAT Sandi E
Subject:
RE: BOLI Requirements: North Game Farm Road Project
Hi Richard,
This is exactly the info I needed to share with Loretta Harris of Tom's Landscape. I called and Loretta
was not in, but Tom took, the information and it sounded as though he understood exactly what I was
requesting. He also acknowledged that they will be required to provide us with a Certified Payroll when
they provide us with the invoice. Thank you so much for the info share.
Perhaps to clarify further, this project is funded from GJN 50130, Project #9758214, PWM Trees
Capital Projects. This would be for City projects that include street trees and for which the trees are
paid for out of the project itself. We will want to be certain that PWE is doing a journal entry to move
money from their project to GJN 50130 to cover the costs for our time and the contracted work we
have done.
Most of the work that Tom's Landscape does for us is funded through private development which is
coded to GJN 50210, Project #985164, Trees for private development: This work is funded by fees
paid by private developers for their private projects... which is why they can pay the lower rate.
Thanks for the info. I will include this email in the project file so we have the documentation in print
where we can all find it. Thanks again! For pretty much any
capital project from Engineering with trees planted by/through POS, the job will be subject to BOLT at a minimum. If it is
federally funded, the contractor will be required to pay the higher of BOLI or Davis-Bacon. For landscapers, Davis-Bacon
is the higher.
Confirm to the contractor that this project is federally funded and we will need copies of the certified payroll for the laborers
on this project. For federal work under the current Davis-Bacon rates, landscape laborers and technicians are classified
under Laborer, Group 1 and should be paid a total of $35.81 per hour (base and fringe). Because this is a federally
funded project, it is probably safest for you to just provide me copies of the certified payroll that you receive from the
contractor.
This year, we have Chad Drive Extension coming up that is also federally funded and will be subject to Davis-Bacon and
