<br />Four to eight stations shall be monitored in four general areas. These areas are <br />indicated on Map 2 and are described here: <br />a. Upstream: near the upstream end where the river first flows into the ponds; <br />b. Interior ponds 1: between the gated culvert and the box culvert at Goodpasture <br />Island Road; <br />c. Interior ponds 2: between the box culvert at Goodpasture and the start of Debrick <br />Slough to the north; <br />d. Debrick Slough: near previous sampling site (just north of Beltline Hwy) and/or <br />near outlet to river; and <br />e. Heron Slough: newly created backwater channel on the west side of the river, <br />southeast of Coping Street <br /> <br />The exact location of monitoring stations, which will depend on the methodology <br />proposed and site accessibility, shall be agreed upon prior to the start of work. <br />Monitoring stations may also be adjusted during monitoring to improve sampling <br />success. <br /> <br />Methodology <br />Methods for monitoring fish shall be submitted in proposal. Some minimum <br />requirements are that methods shall: <br />a. not pose a safety threat to the public; <br />b. not cause undue harm to fish and wildlife; <br />c. be installed or used in such a way to not damage or alter surrounding natural <br />resources; <br />d. be safe for operator(s); and <br />e. be secured onsite or removed when not in use to reduce opportunities for <br />vandalism or theft. <br /> <br />Data and photo documentation <br />The following information shall be recorded for each sampling effort: <br />a. Date, time, and duration of trapping effort; <br />b. Monitoring site; <br />c. Methodology used; <br />d. Species and length for each fish captured; and <br />e. Total number of fish captured by species. <br /> <br />Photos shall be taken of all juvenile Chinook captured, if possible without causing <br />unnecessary stress. If multiple juvenile Chinook are found in a sampling effort, photos of <br />representative fish will be accepted. <br /> <br />Equipment <br />Consultant shall provide all equipment, waders, boats, camera, and other gear required <br />to complete project. The City may provide offsite storage for equipment. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
