Box 7070
Eugene, Oregon 97401 -0470
(541) 741 -6100
Fax (541) 741 -6111
This letter responds to your May 2, 1997, letter regarding the removal of trees
Associated with the Eugene Station project.
LTD agrees with the City's approach to use the value of the trees to be planted within
the site as mitigation for the trees removed from the street. The District also agrees to
maintain the trees on the station property to International Society of Arboriculture (ISA)
standards and will not remove on -site trees without appropriate reimbursement to the
City of Eugene.
Thanks for your help in resolving this issue. We believe the approach you outlined in
your letter meets the intent of the tree ordinance and recognizes LTD's commitment to
place a high priority on trees and site landscaping at the station site. I am certain that
the station block will look "greener" once the new station is completed than it was before
the construction.
We look forward to working with the City on the intergovernmental agreement.
Sincerely,
 1
Stefano Viggiano
Planning and Development Manager
SV:ms /crt
cc: Charlie Simmons
Bob Hammitt
Scott Plamondon
Johnny Medlin
N'\W PDATA \EUGSTATN\TREEAGR.
