Upper Amazon Basin. When the Recovery Plan was written, the population at Amazon
Par was only thought to consist of 750 flowering plants. However, with an estimated
occurrence of over 10,000 flowering plants at Amazon Park (B. Newhouse, pers. comm.)
and an unknown number along Amazon Creek on school district property, the Upper
Amazon Basin may be more important than was anticipated.
Not only is the Bradshaw's lomatium population larger than originally thought, but its .
geographic location may also provide an important link between other populations in the
We t Eugene and Southeastern Recovery Areas. The urban nature of the area between
thes two recovery areas provides few other similar opportunities. '
VI.
