Arborist can make mitigation recommendations or provide on-site Work. <br />In the event that trees are damaged when a City Arborist is not on-site, the <br />Contractor shall stop Work which may result in further damage to trees and make <br />a request for a City Arborist to the Inspector. All Work which may further damage <br />trees shall be stopped, at the Contractors expense, until a City Arborist can make <br />on-site mitigation recommendations and provide on-site Work if needed. <br />Any tree within the project limits damaged by the Contractor due to negligence <br />shall be evaluated by a City Arborist. If that evaluation determines that the action <br />will cause death or substantial damage, the Contractor shall be required to pay <br />the City an amount sufficient to fund the planting and establishment by the City of <br />a tree of similar value. The value of the existing street tree shall be calculated <br />using the plant appraisal method established by the Council of Tree and <br />Landscape Appraisers. Tree damage such as trunk scoring or broken limbs or <br />damaged roots inside the Critical Root Zone will be assessed according to the <br />percentage of loss of tree value per City of Eugene Code. <br />00310.41 Removal Work <br />(ADD) (f) Pavement Removal <br />Coordinate Pavement Removal operations to comply with Section 00220. The <br />edges of pavement to be excavated shall be sawcut or wheelcut prior to <br />excavation. <br />(ADD) 00310.83 Pavement Removal <br />Pavement removal completed and accepted will be measured in place by the <br />square foot. The thickness of pavement removal as shown on the plans is an <br />estimate and shall be considered approximate only. No guarantee is made that <br />the actual thickness will be the same as the estimated thickness. <br />00310.92 Separate Item Basis <br />(ADD) Pay Item <br />Unit of Measurement <br />(g) Pavement Removal Square Foot <br />(ADD) Where pavement removal is indicated on the plans, or as directed by the <br />engineer, all Work required to remove and dispose of existing pavement as <br />specified will be made at the Contract price per square foot for the item <br />"Pavement Removal". No extra payment will be made if the pavement thickness <br />removed varies from what is shown or specified. Removal of aggregate base or <br />subgrade in addition to pavement in order to reach the specified pavement <br />removal thickness shall be incidental. Pavement removal not indicated on the <br />plans will be incidental to the Work. <br />For item (g) replacing asphalt pavement will be paid as WMAC according to <br />00745.90. <br />Special Provisions Job #4586 Page 7 <br />
