SPECIFICATION FOR ADJUSTMENT OF EWEB WATER VALVE BOXES <br />1.0 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. Water Valve Boxes <br />B. Valve Box Risers <br />1.02 REFERENCES <br />A. 'EWEB Standard WC5-4.1000 - Typical Valve Box Installation <br />B. EWEB Standard WC5-4.1100 - Typical Valve Box Retrofit Repaving/Rotomill <br />with Asphalt <br />C. EWEB Standard WC5-4.1200 - Typical Valve Box Retrofit Street <br />Rebuild/Street Cut <br />D. City of Eugene-Circular Cut Sanitary Cleanout Standard RD362{A} <br />1.02.1 The Contractor shall make all arrangements with EWEB Water Distribution to obtain <br />all materials to complete the Work. <br />2.0 PRODUCTS <br />A. Valve Boxes - EWEB will supply to the contractor all valve boxes and lids <br />necessary to complete the Work. <br />B. Valve Box-Risers - EWEB will supply to the contractor all valve box risers <br />necessary to complete the Work. <br />C. Valve Tiles Material - 8" PVC, ASTM 3034, SDR 35 <br />3.0 EXECUTION <br />A. The contractor will. pick up materials at EWEB's Operations yard, 500 E. 4th Ave. <br />Eugene, Oregon, as needed. <br />B. Install and or adjust EWEB valve boxes, risers and lids in a manner consistent <br />with the use of EWEB water valves, as shown in EWEB Standards WC5-4.1000, <br />WC5-4.1100, and WC5-4.1200 to the satisfaction of EWEB. <br />1. Center box over the operator nut on the water valve <br />2. Remove debris from the valve tile to allow unobstructed access to and <br />operation of the operator nut on the valve. <br />3. Set top of valve box or riser flush with the street surface. <br />C. Report any leakage from any water valve to EWEB at 484-3766, as soon as <br />possible. <br />D. Mark in blue paint the exact location of any valve that is temporarily covered in <br />the course of the project. The mark shall be a blue "V" inside a 12-inch diameter <br />circle at the location of the valve that was covered. <br />4.0 PAYMENT <br />Payment for raising, lowering, adjusting and/or replacing EWEB valve boxes shall be payment <br />in full for all Work required at each location, regardless of the number of separate operations <br />performed and shall be paid for under the bid item, "Adjusting Boxes. <br />Special Provisions Job #'s 4583, 4617 and 4655 Page 16 <br />
