Any tree within the project limits damaged by the Contractor due to negligence <br />shall be evaluated by a City Arborist. If that evaluation determines that the action <br />will cause death or substantial damage, the Contractor shall be required to pay <br />the City an amount sufficient to fund the planting and establishment by the City of <br />a tree of similar value. The value of the existing street tree shall be calculated <br />using the plant appraisal method established by the Council of Tree and <br />Landscape Appraisers.
