Both projects are stormwater funded, both are habitat enhancement projects.

In short reasons for this shortage include:
?
Length of time this partnership with the Corps has gone on far exceeded anyone’s expectations by at

least 8 years. This results in administrative costs, and start and restart-up costs, at least 3 major
redesign efforts, material storage expenses, orienting new staff to the project and similar activities.
?
Changing regulations and information – specifically additional work w/ ODFW to discuss the new fish

protection regulations, but also incorporating new ideas about enhancement work as we have learned
as we go along.
?
Additional permitting work – bringing on consultants to get additional DSL permits

?
Additional surveying work, design work etc as ideas morphed with time.

?
Increasing PSF hourly rates over the last decade

Right now we are $130,015 short but I am estimating before the project is complete we will be at least $220 k short.
Some reimbursement from the Corps on excess match will help with the additional shortage but for this April 30 rollover
funds from job 3531 will be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your consideration of this request. I enjoy our partnership on this project and your expertise and
creativity. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Michelle

6855
x

Messages to and from this e-mail address may be subject to disclosure under Oregon Public Records Law.
2
