construc#ion of test strips to check target density.

" Comply with 00641.44 (a)(1).
" The compaction of the reclaimed layer shall be a minimum of 95% of the maximum density as
determined by AASHTO T99, Method D, as corrected for oversize by AASHTO T224. The field
density for compaction shall be determined according to AASHTO T310.
The Contractor shall perform sufficient compaction testing, in accordance with AASHTO T310
procedures, to insure the compaction requirement will be meet.
Acceptance testing for compaction will be conducted by the agency.
Sections of reclaimed material that do not achieve th.e minimum density criteria within required
time periods, shall be remixed and compacted. Remixing of Portland Cement materials will
require addition of new Portland Cement stabilizing agent as determined by the Engineer. All
compaction operations shall be completed within the time limits specified in 00642.43 a)1
Maintenance
00642.60 Care and Maintenance of Work:
a) Traffic -Completed portions of FDR base may be opened immediately to low-speed
local traffic and to construction equipment, provided the curing material or moist curing
operations are not impaired, and provided the FDR base is sufficiently stable to
withstand.marring or permanent deformation.
Sections of FDR base may be opened up to all traffic after the FDR base has received a
curing compound or subsequent surfacing, is sufficiently stable to withstand marring or
permanent deformation and has achieved a minimum unconfined compressive strength
of 300psi.
b) Surfacing -The Engineer will coordinate chip sealing of Riverview St. and Floral Hill Dr.
with Lane County. Public Works.. Contractor shall pave Cross Street per the timing
requirements of 00225.02.
c) Maintenance -The Contractor shall maintain the cement stabilized material in good
condition until. all Work is completed and accepted, at the Contractor's expense.
Maintenance shall include immediate repairs of any defects that may occur. If it is
necessary to replace any processed material, the replacement shall be for the full depth,
with vertical cuts, using either cement-treated material or concrete. No skin patches wilt
be permitted.
" Measurement
00642.80 Measurement
a) Full Depth Reclamation -The Engineer will compute the area of satisfactorily
completed Full Depth Reclamation in square yards from the measured longitudinal
length of pavement reclaimed to the nearest 0.1 foot and the width of pavement
specified in the contract documents.
b) Portland Cement -The Engineer will measure the Portland Cement stabilizing agent in
dry tons by delivery truck quantity.
Special Provisions -Job #4624 Page 10 of 15
