Street light poles shall not be permitted in sidewalk areas unless right of way <br />constraints prevent the use of other options and a special exception is approved by City Staff. If <br />poles are to be installed in a sidewalk area, they must provide a minimum clearance of four (4) feet <br />from either the face of the curb to the front face of the pole, or from the Fear edge of the sidewalk <br />to the rear face of the pole. <br />19. Street light poles shall be a minimum of five (5) feet horizontal frgm driveway aprons. <br />20. In residential and commercial subdivisions, street light poles shall be placed at each <br />intersection, each "knuckle," the "throats" of cul-de-sac, and at or near dead end and temporary <br />turnarounds. <br />21. Street light poles shall be located on lot lines whenever possible, so long as required <br />illumination levels and uniformity ratios can also be achieved. <br />22. Standard design for residential subdivisions utilizes gray fiberglass poles anchored in <br />underground sleeves, and gray "cobra head" type HPS luminaires producing an IES Type II or Type <br />III Medium Cutoff lighting pattern. <br />23. Street light poles shall not be located closer thantwenty-five (25) feet to $treet trees. <br />24. All street light poles shall be located in the street right-of--way. <br />25. Multi-phase conductors shall be color-coded. <br />26. Use of the following materials shall be required: <br />26.1 Wiring shall be ~IIIW, copper, stranded, single conductor or Type OF two <br />conductor cable. If any part of the wire run is direct buried, it shall be Type ITF cable. <br />26.2 Non-metallic conduits shall be Schedule 40 PVC. <br />26.3 All conduits in concrete foundations shall be Schedule 40 rigid galvanized <br />steel. <br />26.4 All luminaires shall be designed far regulated type ballast. <br />26.5 Lamps shallbehigh-pressure sodium, clear, approved for allburning positions. <br />26.6 Lamps of 150 watts or less shall be 55 volt. <br />26.7 Lamps of 240 watts or snore shall be 100 volt. <br />Administrative Order - 7 <br />C:\TEMP\03sQight2ao.wpd(07/30/03) <br />
