Ground water extracted from excavated areas shall be disposed of in a suitable manner without <br />damage to adj acent properly, City's stormwater system, water features, and related natural resources. <br />Dewatering systems shall be designed and operated so as to prevent removal of the natural soils and <br />so that the groundwater level outside the excavation is not reduced to the extent that would damage <br />or endanger adjacent structures or property. Approval of the system does not guarantee that it will <br />meet the outcomes or be acceptable for use in all situations. Modifications to the system will be <br />required if the outcomes can not be met. No sediment laden water should ever leave the construction <br />site. <br />Activities involving cleaning of construction equipment and disposal of excess construction <br />materials shall be conducted so that materials and washout will not be deposited into catch basins, <br />gutters, ditches or areas where runoff may carry materials into the City stormwater system. <br />In addition, the permittee shall be responsible for promptly removing and cleaning all excess earth, <br />stone, crushed rock, rubbish, debris and any unused material that result from work performed. As <br />work progresses, all public ways shall be thoroughly cleaned of all rubbish, excess earth, rock, and <br />other debris resulting from such work. All cleanup shall be at the expense of the permittee. Upori <br />failure to do so, within 24 hours of notification, the City may perform the work and charge the cost <br />thereof to the permittee. If, in the judgment of the Traffic Technical Team Supervisor, a hazardous <br />or dangerous condition exists that affects the public health, safety and welfare, the notification <br />requirement may be waived and the City may take immediate necessary corrective action to remove <br />the hazardous conditions and charge the costs thereof to the responsible party. See EC 7.307 (2). <br />Upon completion of the proposed work, the work site and all disturbed landscaping shall be restored <br />to a condition as near as possible to that which existed immediately prior to the work. Restoration <br />may include, but is not limited to, regrading, seeding and mulching. <br />3.J DAMAGE TO EXISTING FACILITIES. <br />The permittee shall be responsible for all damage to public or private property resulting from the <br />permittee's failure to properly protect people and property while carrying out the work. See EC 7.297 <br />(2). <br />The Inspector and the owner of any damaged facility must be immediately notified of damage to <br />public or private facilities caused or found by the permittee. When private wastewater or stormwater <br />lines are damaged the permittee shall immediately notify the City Building Wastewater Inspector at <br />Public Works Maintenance (682-4800). Required repairs shall meet the State of Oregon Plumbing <br />Specialty Code and shall be inspected by the Building Wastewater Inspector.
