FY05 PSF rates will. increase 11% over FY04 rates. The increase in rates reflects the impact of
increased personnel costs, health insurance, risk rates, and allocating building rental costs to the
rate. There are two changes in the FY05 PSF rates. First, rates for positions with the same salary
range have been blended to create a uniform rate for these positions.:.Second, a flat fee has been ,
established to directly recover the costs associated with preparing as-contructed drawings and
conducting 11-month warranty inspections. In the past, the costs of these two activities were
indirectly recovered through the PSF rate overhead.
The Notice provides fora 15-day comment period. At the end of that time, the City Manager
will review the comments and prepare a final order setting the fees which will include
consideration and response to any public comments. The new hourly rates are expected to be
effective either August 4, 2004. No additional notification will be sent to the Council for these
particular fees, as they are below the minimum level set in Section 2.020 for follow-up with the
Council
For additional information on the proposed charges contact Mark Schoening at 682-5243; for
additional information on the fee-setting process contact Susan Weixelman at 682-5388.
~.__
