Tracy Miller/Jan$uhmann Ti 541-683-7233 Ri16126197 tS~4:19 PM J,-11t
~Y ~~ ~~''
.Tracy Ilene Miller
29249 Willow Creek Rd. And why
does it rcmaln so? Rccausc dcvclapcrs (othcrtvise known as a special interest), arc on tlic
- other side pressuring city government to keep their bottom line high.
Well, the City of Eugene's bottom line suffers when the fees it sets for SDCs are too low t~
recover the full cost of development = which is supposed to be city policy.
.Nevertheless, city staff has decided to present a proposal to the taxpaying public that says
it's okay to sacrifice millions in lost revenues for the sake of keeping developers'
wastewater SDC low,for new homes.
At-a time when Eugene needs this revenue most, I have to add my voice to the many that
say thescadministrativcdecisions arc astoundingly inc~nsistcnt.4vith city policy and the
tax-cut climate -with measures directed-at drying up taxes, city adminlstralors should not
be proposing fee re.~uctions that will mean a deficit in revemles collected to cover
infrastructure costs.
I would like an accounting from city engineer Les Lyle and city manager Vicky Elmer for
allowing such gross disregard for the public interest to reach the concrete step of
`<proposed'° fees.
Sincerely,
Tracy Miller
