ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 58-98-12
of the
City Manager Pro Tem of the City of Eugene
CONCERNING NOTICE OF INTENDED AMENDMENT
OF PLAT CHECKING FEES AND
REPEAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER 58-95-10-F.
The City Manager Pro Tem of the City of Eugene finds as follows:
A. Sections 2.020 and 9.025 of the Eugene, Code, 1971 authorize the City Manager
to determine and set fees and charges to be imposed by the City for services, goods, use of
municipal property, and licenses and permits.
B. Following the procedures set forth therein, Administrative Order No. 58-95-10-F
was issued on November 14, .1995 establishing the current plat checking fees for partitions and
ratifying other plat checking fees. The City's costs associated with providing these services has
increased since these fees were established, and the plat checking fees for subdivisions,
condominiums, and partitions should therefore be increased as proposed ...herein, and
Administrative Order No. 58-95-10-F repealed.
C. I find that the proposed revision to the plat checking fees -set forth in Exhibit A
hereto are consistent with applicable policies and directives of the City Council; are comparable
to the fees established in other jurisdictions for providing such services, in compliance with
Section 9.025 of the Eugene Code, 1971,~and are necessary in order to comply with the Council's
goal of recovering the cost of providing the services from the beneficiaries of those services.
On the basis of these fmdings, I order that:
l . Copies of the Notice be provided to the Mayor and City Counci#ors,, published in
the Register Guard, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, posted at two locations at
City Hall, and be made available for inspection by interested persons at,the offices of the City
Surveyor, Public Works Engineering Division, 858 Pearl Street, Eugene, Oregon 97401 during
regular business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, exclusive of holidays).
2. All persons desiring to comment thereon shall submit written comments as set forth
in the Notice. I will thereafter establish the fees by an administrative order.
Y.~
Dated this I day of ~..~._ , 1998.
,~'
~~~
James R.
