RECEIVED MAY 09 2005
Designing the future
May 4, 2005
Bob Noble
Eugene Airport
28855 Lockheed Drive
Eugene, OR 97402
Subject: 2004 U.S. DOT Airline Report Data
Dear Bob,
We recently .received the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) airline report data for the
fourth quarter of 2004 (October, November, and December). To keep you informed of the
changing environment in the airline industry, we have included with this letter U.S. DOT domestic
airline report data for calendar year 2004. The information provided includes a 12-month
comparison of 2003 and 2004 passengers, airline revenue, average airfare, and average yield.
This data is airport specific and it includes similar information for the other airports in the
Northwest region (Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming).
Due to sample size and the inclusion of only domestic data you may find that enplanements
reported do not match your records. The primary value of the data is that it provides a good
benchmarking tool for you to compare general industry trends. In the Northwest region,
passenger traffic increased 7.8 percent from 2003 to 2004. Revenue also improved with a 7.0
percent increase. However, average fares decreased 1.5 percent and average yields dropped
2.7 percent.
It is our intent to provide this same basic information to you on a quarterly basis. In addition to
the above information, Mead & Hunt maintains a variety of aviation industry databases so as to
provide you with quality information at competitive prices. Please give us a call if you have
questions about any of the information provided or if we can be of further assistance.
Sincerely,
Mead & Hunt, Inc.
Y l~
Mike Boggs
Manager -Aviation Business Services
Enclosure: U.S. DOT airline report data
Mead & Hunt Inc. 28829 Lockheed Drive Suite 2A Eugene Oregon 97402
541 689 9997 fax: 541 689 9998 vvvvw.meadhunt.com
~j~ces nair~onvaicte Foa~ndec~ i 9L0
