RIVER ROAD RESIDENTS' VIEWS OF ANNEXATION
Communi~ Services
River Road residents recognize the importance of urban services, particularly
those related to safety, such as police and fire protection.
But, with the exception of library services, they fail to foresee significant
improvement in local services through annexation.
Some improvement is expected, but a majority suspects that the service
situation in River Road will remain constant or unchanged under annexation.
Perceptions of the importance of urban services and expectations of change
are reflected in the ensuing charts.
Endorsement Power
The most persuasive spokespeople for annexation are informed and
influential citizens of the River Road community in private and business sectors.
Less influential, but not'to be discounted, are endorsements of elected Eugene
officials whose motives are not equated with political gain.
F,S S
