Building and Park Facilities =Unfunded Program (Cont.) <br />New City Library Renovate and expand the former Sears building at the corner of Chamelton and 10th <br />Avenue as site of new 125,000 square foot City library. Purchase and/or replace <br />equipment and books for a ten year period. <br />Plan/Policy Document: City Council Goals, Eugene's Future Library Plan, City <br />Voter Approval <br />Total Project Cost: $26,000,000 <br />Open Space Acquisition/Development Acquire land and develop new open space and parks facilities. Develop and improve <br />existing sites, including: 1) acquire land for new park sites in the Bethel, Willakenzie, <br />and southwest areas; expand sites at Ridgeline, West University, Skinner Butte, <br />Petersen, Fairmount, and Amazon parks; and a major pool facility in the central area; <br />2) construct new athletic fields at Amazon, Crescent, Skinner Butte, and <br />Westmoreland parks; new tennis courts at Amazon, Sheldon, and Churchill or <br />Westmoreland, parks; gymnasium facilities at Sheldon, Westmoreland, Petersen, and <br />Amazon Community Centers; and a new senior center in the Bethel area; and 3) major <br />improvements to existing parks, play fields, pools and senior centers. <br />- Plan/Policy Document: Parks and Recreation Plan, Bike Master Plan, City Council <br />Goals <br />Total Project Cost: $5,000,000 <br />Owen Rose Garden Facility Replace the maintenance facility in Owen Rose Garden due to age and structural <br />problems. <br />Plan/Policy Document: Facilities Condition Report <br />Total Project Cost: $300,000 <br />Parking Structure Construction Construct a new facility to support parking demand from redevelopment of the west <br />end of the downtown mall and/or development of the Broadway and Charnelton site. <br />Plan/Policy Document: CATS <br />Total Project Cost: $5,000,000 <br />Public Safety Building Develop a new centralized Public Safety administration and operations facility, <br />including a master fire station to replace Fire Station #1 at City Hall and a new 9-1-1 <br />Communications Center. <br />Plan/Policy Document: Public Safety Long Range Plan <br />Total Project Cost: $15,000,000 <br />River House Replacement Replace River House outdoor facility due to age as well as structural and code <br />problems, either on existing site or on another City-owned location.
