Page 2
Letter to Citizens of Eugene
November 25, 1996
Anticipated reductions in Eugene's portion of Lane County Road Funds beginning in FY 1998
will also impact a number of projects. Several Transportation projects that have been funded
in previous years are shown in this draft CIP in the "funded" category but with the expectation
that there will not be adequate road funds to continue these projects, since all available road
funds are proposed to be used for preservation projects.
You are encouraged to review the Draft CIP and participate in the public hearing process. A
public hearing on the Draft CIP will be conducted by the Planning Commission on Tuesday,
January 7, 1997. After consideration of public testimony, the Planning Commission will
forward the document to the Budget Committee. The Budget Committee will then consider
the Draft CIP in relation to the City's overall budget,. taking into account the testimony
presented at the Planning Commission public hearing and the Commission's
recommendations. The Budget Committee's recommendations will be forwarded to the City
Council for a second public hearing and final action. I anticipate that the final version will be
published by March 1, 1997.
For more information about the.Draft CIP, contact Dave Reinhard or Nathan Duke at the
Public Works Transportation Division, (541) 682-5218.
Sincerely,
~~
Linda Norris
City Manager Pro Tem
