The nearest fire station is the <br /> recently opened Station 11 on Santa Clara Avenue. Other stations that respond in Santa Clara include <br /> Station 2 at 2nd Avenue and Chambers Street and Station 7 in the Bethel-Danebo area. The City also has <br /> an automatic aid agreement with Santa Clara Rural Fire Protection. District. <br /> LIBRARY SERVICES <br /> Service is provided by Eugene. The new Downtown Main Library will open in December 2002. There <br /> are also branch libraries in Bethel and Sheldon regions. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATION SERVICES <br /> City residents on Altura have no nearby recreational facilities. Residents can participate in Eugene <br /> recreation programs at centers in Bethel, Willakenzie, and other locations. Residents can also use <br /> facilities at the River Road Park and Recreation District paying out-of-district fees. Park facilities in ' <br /> Santa Clara area include several neighborhood parks. Eugene park system development charges and a <br /> Eugene 1998 park and open space bond measure are being used to acquire additional neighborhood <br /> parks in Santa Clara. The City is also planning to acquire a larger community park in Santa Clara in the <br /> coming year. <br /> PLANNING AND BUILDING SERVICES <br /> Planning <br /> Eugene, Springfield, and Lane County have jointly adopted an <br /> overall Metro Plan that provides general land use guidance for <br /> the entire metro area. In River Road and Santa Clara, Lane ~ ' ~ <br /> County and Eugene developed a joint neighborhood refine- ~ <br /> ment plan that provides more specific policy direction in the <br /> area, but it was adopted 15 years ago and a lot has changed. <br /> Land Use and Zoning Regulations <br /> Last year, the Eugene City Council adopted new zoning and land use regulations.
