Water Resources
. j Special provisions could be made to contain dewatered ground water, ifpre-excavation
assessments indicate that the ground water is contaminated. Disposal of contaminated water is
regulated by state or local agencies based on contaminant levels. It is anticipated that most or all
of the water draining from the site could be discharged to the storm drainage system or into the
sanitary sewer system through a city permit.
No significant impacts on flood storage in the Willamette River are expected. If any flood
storage is lost as a result of the proposed project, the proponent would be required to provide
j '' additional storage in the affected system to mitigate the storage loss.
Significant Unavoidable Adverse Impacts
No significant unavoidable adverse impacts on water resources are anticipated to result from
either of the alternatives.
New Federal Courthouse 53 Final EIS
